一、interest用法
1. 用作名詞,注意以下用法:
(1) 表示一般意義的“興趣”“愛(ài)好”,為不可數(shù)名詞,但可與不定冠詞連用;表示在“對(duì)……的興趣”,其后通常接介詞in。如:
You’ve no interest in going with us? 你沒(méi)有興趣和我們一道去?
Scientists have taken a great interest in his ideas. 科學(xué)家們對(duì)他的觀點(diǎn)很感興趣。
有時(shí)可用復(fù)數(shù)形式,表示不同人的興趣或同一人的多種興趣。如:
Their interests are very similar. 他們的興趣很相似。
He has wide interests. 他有廣泛的興趣。
(2) 表示具體意義的“感興趣的事”“愛(ài)好”,是可數(shù)名詞。如:
My interests are music and travel. 我的興趣是音樂(lè)和旅行。
Gardening is one of my main interests. 園藝是我的主要興趣之一。
(3) 注意以下各句介詞of的使用:
The question is of great interest to me. 我對(duì)這個(gè)問(wèn)題很感興趣。
He has been to many places of interest. 他去過(guò)許多名勝。
(4) 表示“利息”,不可數(shù)。如:
He paid 5% interest on the loan. 他借的貸款要付5%的利息。
(4) 表示“利益”,為可數(shù)名詞,但通常用復(fù)數(shù)。如:
He’s good at looking after his own interests. 他很會(huì)照顧自己的利益。
The union was formed to protect the rights and interests of miners. 建立起工會(huì)是為保護(hù)礦工的權(quán)利和利益。
2. 用作動(dòng)詞,是及物動(dòng)詞,通常以人作賓語(yǔ)。如:
Geology interests him. 地質(zhì)學(xué)使他感興趣。
His joke didn’t interest me. 他的笑話并不使我感到興趣。
表示在某一方面的興趣,與介詞in搭配。如:
He tried to interest me in football. 他設(shè)法使我對(duì)足球感興趣。
二、interested 的用法
意思是:感興趣的,關(guān)切的。如:
Are you interested in this subject? 你對(duì)這門(mén)課感興趣嗎?
Aren’t you interested in making money? 難道你對(duì)賺錢(qián)不感興趣?
I’m interested in when he did it. 我對(duì)他什么時(shí)候干了此事感興趣。
注意區(qū)別:be interested in doing sth與be interested to do sth:前者表示對(duì)做某事感興趣,后者表示很想做某事:
I’m interested to hear your opinion. 我想聽(tīng)聽(tīng)你的意見(jiàn)。
I’m interested in emigrating to Canada. 我對(duì)移居加拿大感興趣。
三、interesting的用法
意思是:有趣的,令人感興趣的。如:
The idea sounds interesting. 這個(gè)想法聽(tīng)起來(lái)很有趣。
I met a lot of interesting people on holiday. 我在度假期間遇到了許多有趣的人。
The price is interesting to us. 我們對(duì)這一價(jià)格感興趣。
It is interesting to contrast the two writers. 將這兩位作家加以比較是很有意思的。
注意:其后接不定式且該不定式含有被動(dòng)意義時(shí),通常要用主動(dòng)形式:
Volleyball is very interesting to watch. 打排球看起來(lái)很有意思。
She is interesting to talk to. 和她談話很有意思。
四、辨析
interested 與 interesting:前者表示“感興趣的”,后者表示“令人感興趣的”“有趣的”:
Children are interested in interesting stories. 孩子們對(duì)有趣的故事感興趣。
