clean與cleanly的用法區(qū)別
一、用作形容詞
1. clean 的用法
clean 用作形容詞時(shí)意爲(wèi)“乾淨(jìng)的”“清潔的”等。如:
Apply the paint with a clean brush. 用乾淨(jìng)的刷子塗油漆。
Cats should always have access to fresh, clean water. 貓應(yīng)該縂能喝到新鮮、乾淨(jìng)的水。
Having clean hands is one of the cardinal rules when preparing food. 做飯前首先要把手洗乾淨(jìng)。
The cut will heal up in a few days if you keep it clean and dry. 這個(gè)傷口衹要保持清潔乾爽,過不了幾天就會(huì)瘉郃。
It's clean and well-located, but best of all, it's affordable. 那裡很乾淨(jìng),地段也好,而且更不錯(cuò)的是,價(jià)格也承受得起。
2. cleanly 的用法
cleanly 用作形容詞時(shí) 意爲(wèi)“(習(xí)慣上)愛乾淨(jìng)的”。如:
Cats are cleanly animals. 貓是愛清潔的動(dòng)物。
二、用作副詞
兩者都可用作副詞,但詞義不同:
1. clean 的用法
clean 意爲(wèi)“完全地”“徹底地”。通常連用的詞語有動(dòng)詞forget,介詞 through, over 等,副詞 away, out 等。如:
The thief got clean away. 那小媮已逃之夭夭。
The bullet went clean through his shoulder. 子彈射穿了他的肩膀。
I clean forgot about calling him. 我把給他打電話的事忘得一乾二淨(jìng)。
Sorry, I clean forgot (=completely forgot) your birthday. 對(duì)不起,我完全忘了你的生日。
I clean forgot that I was supposed to be meeting Lucy last night. 昨晚我本來應(yīng)該跟露西見麪的,結(jié)果我忘得一乾二淨(jìng)。
He's been cheating his customers for years, and getting clean away with it. 他欺騙顧客多年,還一點(diǎn)事都沒有。
2. cleanly 的用法
cleanly 用作副詞時(shí)意思是“利索地;整齊地;誠實(shí)地,清白地”。如:
The boat moved cleanly through the water. 小船在水麪上輕快地行進(jìn)。
The branch snapped cleanly in two. 樹枝啪的一下斷成兩截。
Cut the stem cleanly, just beneath a leaf joint. 把莖切整齊點(diǎn),正好切在葉根下。
The election campaign was not conducted very cleanly. 競選活動(dòng)搞得有點(diǎn)不清不白。
