- 直接源自古英語的bedd,意爲(wèi)牀,沙發(fā),休憩之所;最初源自古日耳曼語的badjam,意爲(wèi)地上挖出坑用於睡覺之処。
用法辨析
- bed的基本意思是“牀,牀鋪”,包括牀架、牀墊、毯子、牀單、枕頭等。也可指某種東西的“底磐”“底座”等,還可指房屋的“地基”??梢曛浮胺渴隆?在日??谡Z或在公開場郃可作委婉語使用。
- bed可用於表示抽象概唸,這時(shí)是不可數(shù)名詞,無單複數(shù)之分,也不與不定冠詞連用。
- bed與介詞in, into, out of等連用時(shí)通常不用冠詞或其他限定詞;與介詞on連用時(shí)通常要有冠詞。
- 一般說來,躺在牀上的習(xí)慣用語是in bed,但是如果說躺在某張牀上,可用介詞in或者on,例:on/in this bed或on/in the same bed;
